Started as Crime Detachment unit and later changed into Crime Branch in 2014.District Crime Branch is headed by a Deputy Superintendent of Police. District Crime Branch acts as specialized investigating wing of District Police Chief which is mandated to help in investigating sensational cases at the district level. It is also entrusted with supervising the functioning of District Women Cell and District Cyber Cell. DCB also acts as nodal office for the processing of Kubera Cases and Petitions, Video piracy, Hawala investigation, Lottery and Ragging, Missing cases.District Crime Branch is also designated as the DMPTU (District Missing Person Tracking Unit) in the district.
