Pink Police Patrol
To increase the safety of women and children in public places, Kozhikode Rural Police has introduced Pink Patrol.  Pink Beat consists of specially trained female police officers.  These police officers will patrol KSRTC and private stage carriers and will be present at bus stops, schools, colleges and other public places.  They will help women, children and senior citizens traveling in buses.  Kozhikode Rural Pink Patrol operates as base station at Vadakara and Khilanti.  The pink patrol team will work under the supervision of the district police chief.

The role of these police officers is to ensure that the seats reserved for women and the physically challenged in KSRTC or private buses are not misused by the public. Eve & Dash shuts down any form of teasing or threats of harassment.Help physically challenged children and travelers to reach their destination.

The patrol car is equipped with GPS tracking devices and cameras placed on the front and rear of the vehicles.  The camera sends continuous footage to the control room.  An officer from the control room can check this footage in real time and deploy additional forces in various areas whenever required.  These patrol vehicles will be headed by a woman police officer and accompanied by two other women police officers.  The patrols will be deployed in areas where the presence of women is high and will operate from 8 am to 8 pm. These officers not only monitor the inside of busy public buses for abuse and obstruction, but also monitor anti-social activities at bus stops, schools and other important destinations.
